MAI CHAU & PU LUONG ITINERARY
Day 1
Morning: Rise early for your hotel pick-up in Hanoi and start the journey to Mai Chau. You’ll stop to take a break at Luong Son and then on the stunning Thung Khe Pass where there is a local market run by the Muong people.
Arrive in Mai Chau Valley for lunch where a vegetarian option is available.
Afternoon: Step inside one of the traditional stilt houses to learn about how the ethnic Thai community live and then take a bicycle ride through the village to see more of the community. Stop by the handicraft village to learn about traditional weaving techniques and local designs – you can support them by buying their local products as souvenirs for friends and family.
Check-in to your homestay in Mai Chau. You’ll have some time before dinner to take a shower or wander around the village.
Enjoy dinner cooked by your hosts and sample the homemade rice wine with the family, before enjoying their traditional Thai dance performance.
Day 2
Morning: Rise early with the sounds of the village waking and enjoy a simple breakfast at your homestay.
Board the van to go to Pu Luong Nature Reserve, around 45km away. Stop on the way to visit a small local factory that makes chopsticks!
In Pu Luong Nature Reserve, we’ll take you on a beautiful trekking route to soak in the mountainous scenery and stunning rice terraces.
Enjoy a break for lunch in a small village, before trekking on to another village to meet your homestay hosts.
Check-in to your homestay in Pu Luong and settle in at your leisure.
Enjoy another homecooked feast and then rest early after your long days hike.
Day 3
Morning: Drive over to Moc Chau from Pu Luong after breakfast.
Your Moc Chau tour will take you to the stunning Dai Yem Waterfall and inside Doi (Bat) Cave. You’ll also visit a fragrant tea farm. Green tea is farmed throughout Moc Chau district.
Enjoy a break for lunch in a small village, before heading back to Hanoi.
